Thank you for your visit. I have been living abroad as an expat for about 15 months in the United Arab Emirates. I entitled this post “finally” due to the fact that it has taken me this long to start writing a travel blog Having the opportunity to travel all over the world as a black women is amazing to me. Being exposed to so many cultures, languages, rich experiences and challenges has further piqued my interest for this travel life. I must confess: I absolutely love to travel. It’s actually one of my passions. I couldn’t help but to document my experiences.

Finally, I have come to a place of acceptance and true contentment with my decision. Living as an expat, a black female expat is not an easy feat, especially if you’re in a Middle Eastern country. I am growing and learning to accept that people’s opinions don’t have to matter. What matters is the decisions you make and how they are executed. I am on this journey, discovering more about myself, life, true purpose and being free. Free from the oppression and control of my fears and limitations that I set. Finally, I am living my dream.

This space will be used to share, vent, illustrate and provide testimonies on the joy, sorrows, challenges, cultural nuisances and the like while living abroad as a black woman. As I continue on this journey, I will post my amazing experiences in the Middle East and other countries that I have had the pleasure visiting. Stay tuned!
